Print Sizing

Choosing the right artwork size is easier once you understand how each Pilbara Prints format is measured. Please note that sizing is calculated slightly differently across framed prints, stretched canvas and framed canvas.

Framed Print Sizing

Our framed print sizes refer to the external edge of the finished frame, not the size of the photograph inside it. For example, an A3 Printed & Framed artwork has an A3-sized external frame. The photograph itself is smaller because it sits inside an off-white, acid-free border mount.

If you want the photographic image itself to be approximately A3 or larger, you will generally need to choose a larger framed size. View our print material examples and further print information.

Canvas Sizing

Our canvas prints are available as traditional stretched canvas and, for selected artworks, framed canvas. Canvas dimensions refer to the external edge of the finished artwork. Framed canvas includes an additional floating outer frame, so the canvas within it is slightly smaller than the overall external dimensions.

When you select a full image wrap, part of the photograph continues around the sides of the canvas. This creates a finished edge without white borders, but it also means the front-facing image is cropped slightly. A white-edge option is available on many canvas products when you prefer to retain more of the original image on the front.

Sizes and Orientations

Available sizes and orientations vary by photograph. Some images are offered in portrait or square formats where the composition allows. Always check the size and format options shown on the individual product page before ordering.
